Room For Improvement (Closed RP)

Post by KidPerfect » Fri Jul 06, 2018 9:51 am

Boring Boring Boring
Sitting on a flipped dumpster in the middle of a trashed alley Jakey idly scrolled through his phone. Surrounding him were a couple men sprawled on their backs, all drifting in and out of various stages of consciousness. Their current state could be attributed to the kid in the letterman and domino masks watching Youtube. One of the more vocal men let out a pained groan as he clutched his stomach, more accurately his ribs, even more precisely the shattered ones. However, he was quickly silenced as Jakey lazily swung his foot into his face rendering the man senseless once more.

"Oh shut it." Jakey muttered, still slightly peeved about how the situation had played out. He'd been "patrolling" for an hour when he ran into these guys acting all shady. Within a couple minutes of eavesdropping, he found out they had fancied themselves hero killers, planning on going around baiting rookie capes before ganging up on them. So when he jumped in fists clenched and a wild grin on his face he'd expected to faced with a bit of a challenge. Yet after a minute of loudly and convincingly thrashing them, it was clear they were all talk.

Tired of sitting around Jakey slid his phone into his pocket, he briefly contemplated calling the cops but decided against it. He doubted any of those guys would want to look at, much less fight another hero ever again. Wait... was he a hero? I mean, I did just kick the ever-loving shit out of some villain and he was pretty sure that was what heroes did. So sure, why not.

Hopping of the dumpster he rolled his shoulder, hero or not the night was young. That fight, if you could call it one, hadn't done anything to quench his thirst for a good smackdown. If anything it had just gotten his blood flowing, he was revving at full throttle, eager to find someone to really go all out on.

Man, this place was boring.
Tyler Wells drove his truck down the streets of Oklahoma, basking in the stares of what were no doubt admiration for the lifted body, oversize wheels, and shiny chrome rims. The rims were a lot shinier than the rest of the truck, which was an '11 Ford F-150. Hey, what could he do, it was a lot easier to forget to pay for rims and body work than forget to pay for a whole truck. Which was, incidentally, why he was in Oklahoma. Some people just had no sense of helping their fellow man pimp out his ride.

He'd left all that behind him, though. No sense worrying about the past. He had the windows down and a sticky note pinned to the dash that said "Find a guy to fix the goddamn AC," and was cruising idly, wondering if Oklahoma had any good BBQ joints. That was when he started hearing the groans from over on the alley. Didn't sound like barbecue, but it sounded better than nothing. He double parked the car in the lot of a coin laundry business, so no idiots would scratch his rims, and hopped out.

The alley was filled with... a bunch of unconscious losers. And some kid, on a dumpster. Tyler knew better than to judge people by age. It was always the little girl who looked about six who opened up the can of ass-whoopin'. Giant robots? No problem. Massive tentacled thing? No problem. Evil zombies? No problem. Cute little girl? Better hope you've got health items, 'cause you're fucked. Not that this was a video game, but with all the weird metas wandering around, Tyler figured the same rules applied.

He glanced at the thugs, then at the kid, who was hopping down off his perch. "You do this, kid?"

As he got off the dumpster Jakey looked up, his eyes drawn towards the source of the voice, a source it didn't take him long to find. Standing at the entrance way of the alley there stood a man looking at him. He looked pretty normal, and if Jakey had to guess he'd say the man was several years older then him likely somewhere in his twenties. For a moment he wondered if he'd been a friend of the group of guys he'd just knocked around, but something told him that wasn't quite right. Maybe he was a cop or something because people didn't normally tend to try and talk to him right after he'd gotten into a fight.

Either way, who the guy was didn't really matter all that much at the moment. After all the dude had just asked a question, nothing more, nothing less. It would only be polite to answer. Looking down at the incapacitated men as if to confirm they were talking about the same thing, Jakey shrugged before responding.

"Yeah." He stated simply as if that fact should have been blatantly apparent, "What of it?"

Tyler gave the kid a lopsided grin, then cracked his knuckles.

"Fight me."

He didn't waste time with long-winded explanations or speeches about morality and social justice. He didn't beat around the bush for ages when everyone knew where it was going anyway. He didn't bother trying to figure out who was in the right and who was in the wrong. The truth was, none of that shit even mattered. If the kid beat up those guys, he'd probably give a good fight, and Tyler wanted to fight him.

He walked forward, closing the distance between them. The kid could answer, or not. That was just one of the other things that didn't matter. When Tyler got close enough, he swung his fist - a solid right hook aimed at the kid's head. He didn't hold back. No one ever got anywhere with that Yu-Gi-Oh bullshit.

Jakey raised an eyebrow slightly confused before he realized that the man was in fact very serious. After which his only response was the wild smile erupting on his face as his eyes lit up. He had no clue who the man was, what he wanted, or what his name was, nor did he care. If he was someone who just wanted get into a fight just because, he was Jakey's kinda person.

Wasting no time on words he watched as the man approached him, taking a calming breath his guard seemed to drop completely as he pushed his hair out of his face before dropping his arms by his sides. his body settling into the unorthodox fighting stance that let him flow between any of the various moves he'd picked up.

As the first punch was thrown Kid Perfect reacted instinctively, his speed jumping from a standstill to motion in the unnatural way it had the tendency to do. His left arm rising to protect himself as he ducked his head in and drived forwards. The man's blow struck his arm leaving a rough mark but doing far less harm than if it had hit his face. Moving forward at the same time the blow collided with him Jakey set himself up in an ideal position to counter-attack. Transfering his momentum from moving into what appeared to be an uppercut his fist began to rise headed towards the man's stomach. Yet just before it landed he froze it, feinting the attack as he slammed his head directly towards the man's nose in a vicious headbutt. If he was going to ask for a fight he would get one, no holds barred with the sole intent of leaving the other guy in a world of pain.

Damn, but the kid was quick. Tyler had gotten his punch in, but on the kid's arm and not right in his head. That was actually a good thing. Tyler would have been disappointed if the kid had gone down too easy, after all. The kid had a fist coming for his gut, so Tyler tensed his abs to take it, which was when the kid's head connected directly with his face.

Now, if he'd been an average guy, that probably would have broken his nose, but Tyler didn't break quite that easily. It was still a solid hit, and the fountain of bright blood from his nostrils attested to that. He wiped at it with his sleeve, not letting it be a distraction. This was going to be good, after all.

He gave himself a little space, then tried the same move as before, guessing that the kid was probably going to move his arm to block again - that was why his left fist came in with an uppercut while the kid was - hopefully - distracted. A good punch on the chin would even things up a little.

Pulling back his head after a solid blow Jakey bounced back to the balls of his feet as he settled back into his natural stance. He watched his opponent, slightly surprised to find the man was slightly more durable then he would have thought. That was fine by him, just meant he'd have to push himself a bit more to bring him down.

As the man opened with the same attack he had before, Jakey once again instinctively raised his left arm once again moved to block it. However just as he felt his arm catch the blow he spotted the second attack a fraction of a second too late. He attempted to pull himself back, but the fist struck him clean on the chin sending him reeling back. His vision blurred momentarily as the blow left him slightly dazed, however, he kept his guard up, warding off any follow-up attacks.

He rubbed his chin before shaking off the dizziness, he was really not the in the mood to take another one of those he realized that he simply playing defensive wouldn't work. With one quick burst of speed he seemed to glide forwards, darting diagonally towards the man. Abusing the human eye's weakness when it came to tracking objects that didn't move horizontally or vertically. He threw a hook eerily similar to the two the man had thrown at him towards the lower side of the torso, aiming to strike just below the rib cage.

Tyler had a moment of triumph when his fist connected, and was pleased to see the kid keep his guard up and come back at him. It was hard to find a good opponent these days. Too much talking, not enough punching. Everyone just wanted to meet at a coffee house and discuss their love life or their traumatic childhood.

Heroes and villains these days just didn't appreciate a good fist to the face. This kid, though... this kid knew what to do with a fist in the face. He came back in, just as quickly. Quicker, even. Tyler was figuring he must have some sort of speed boost from the earlier punch, so when the kid started moving, he started back - it was enough to get him a little bit out of the way, but not all the way. The fist still connected with his gut - hurt like a bitch, but it didn't take him down. He folded over it a bit, mostly to give himself a little space, and brought his knee up to the kid's groin.

Tyler was not the sort of guy who believed in fighting fair. Hopefully a solid hit to the nuts would put the kid down, and even so, Tyler was already reaching for his head, going for the same type of vicious head-butt the kid had used on him earlier.

As his sunk into the man's stomach Jakey prepared himself to move back and put some distance between the man. However, despite the success of his blow, it appeared he hadn't been staggered nearly as long as Jakey would have thought. The knee came shooting up at him giving him only a fraction of a second to react, not enough to dodge, but perhaps enough to intercept. With no other choice, he tried moving his own leg in the way of the strike in an attempt to block it. One that paid off, however, it was at a cost. Instead, him being hit in the groin the knee struck him just below the joint from his shin and his knee. He could feel his leg bend in an unnaturally way just before there was a flash of light as the headbutt finisher knocked him backward.

Unable to keep his balance with his weakened leg Jakey fell square on his back. Even though the splitting headache granted to him by the man's devastating attack Kid Perfect was still able to realize one thing. That unless he did something quickly, getting knocked down was the quickest way to lose a fight. So with one more burst of his nigh superhuman speed, he shot his undamaged leg out, aiming to kick the legs out from under the man. If it worked it'd cause him to fall directly onto Jacky, but more specifically it would cause gravity to slam him into Jakey's carefully positioned elbow. A blow that would strike the man straight in the neck.

The kid went down hard, and Tyler was briefly satisfied. Very briefly, because the kid was damn fast. A kick he hadn't even seen coming caught Tyler across the legs, dropping them out from under him. He was starting to get the hang of the kid's speed now, though, just barely enough that he could twist just a fraction while he fell. The elbow caught him, not in the neck, but in the collarbone - with a resounding crack. Collarbones were pretty weak anyway, and Tyler may have been a lot more durable than the average dude, but dropping all his weight on to a little bone like that was still going to cause problems.

He rolled off the kid with a wince and a groan, holding his arm. "All right, kid," he said, "I'm out if you are. You're good. I'll fight you again some day." Probably not today, though. Today... well, today Tyler was about ready for a handful of ibuprofen, a bottle of whiskey, and a couple ice packs.

All in all, a pretty good day.
