Port City Dalmor, Madagascar

There was a Portuguese merchant who once entered a cove along the Southern Ridges of Madagascar, a man of vision named Dalmor Earheart. He saw what could be done with it, and over the ears, he'd settled down and started with a minor dockyard along the shore. Initially it served just a few sailors who needed a break from their trip across Europe or Africa, and came equipped with just a tavern and some inns. Gradually though, the people who came in increased and by the year 1815, Merchant Dalmor Earheart, then 60, established a town called Dalmor along the Cove. Business was good and the town just kept on growing over the years. Dalmor's descendants took over after his death, expending more funds into the development of a bigger and better harbor that could accommodate more people. By the late 1900s, the city had already grown to the point of no return, having expanded west along Lac Ranfosty and farther south across the lake. Bridges connected the vast expanse of the lake and made for effective connections within the region for around 10 miles.

Waters along the shore could oftentimes get turbulent and unmanageable for small ships and boats. For this reason, Dalmor authorities in alliance with Madagascar government decided to excavate Lac Ranfortsy's estuary to make way for vessels to go into the lake for effective docking procedures. The lake was also gouged out to be much deeper than it originally was. Authorities at the time chose to completely overlook what damages it could cost to the environment at large, but the argument was silenced using money which the Dalmor was more than willing to give to the Madagascan authorities.

Organisations

Dalmor established his little town to revolve around him in an almost autocratic system of influence, but he was smart enough to not let that show. He would have a handful of the richest investors form a circle that, after his death grew to become known as 'Dalmor Foundation'. The Dalmor foundation has a total of 4 families in control over the entire port city. They each controlled regions and specific trades within the city. Usually there'd be one single 'Mayor' who ran it all, but the Mayor was nothing more than a tool that these 5 big families used as a puppet to show the world. It was they who controlled the seas and the air in and around the city.
Dalmor Family:-
The Dalmor Family is the crown jewel of the port city and the family that takes the title and heritage of the city itself. Although it shares the exact same shares of the city as the rest of those within the foundation, for obvious reasons, the Mayorship of the city has always been held by a member of the Dalmor family. Over the years, the family has continued to own almost all of the silk trade within the city wholly for itself. Although not quite happy with the turn of events and having to share its wealth with 5 others, the family really does not have much of a choice in this matter. Dalmor came to be what it is today because of the resources, wealth and ingenuity from all of them.

Reserva Family:-
The Reserva Family is an organization comprised of Assassins and the closest affiliates of the Dalmor Family. You
could call them an alliance, a family that was called upon after about 10 years of the township for the sole purpose of securing its position within the region. Reserva family controls the City's PD and almost all of the trades involving weapons and gunpowder going in and out of the city. Reserva family owns factories that could be said to be the main supplier for the greater region.

Connor Manor:-
The connor manor is a household of influence whose only interest lie in politics. Most of its members are speakers or lawyers with influences in the greater Madasgar. Their lack of trading interest would normally lead them to be expelled from the foundation, but because of their influence in the country, they've managed to remain in a position of authority in the port city and also benefit from it.

Tremor Organisation:-
The tremor organisation is a rather new power to join the Dalmor Foundations. The exact circumstances behind them being allowed in the Dalmor Foundation are unknown, but what is known is that Port City Dalmor pays a lot of tributes to keep favor with this organisation. Their members are few but hold equal authority in the affairs of the city.


The Attorny General is assigned directly by the Madasgar government and he is the only person in the city with power rivalling that of the Dalmor Foundation. He controls the law and Police Departments throughout the region in and around Port City Dalmor. For this reason, the Dalmor Foundation dare not cross this man and rather stay on his good books. Various smaller offices run under the Attorny General.
Magistrate Court/District Courts:-
As the primary law enforcement organisation in the area the AG runs district courts and magistrate courts under them. They have exactly 5 district courts and one Magistrate Court to handle all legal affairs involving crimes.
Dalmor PD:-
AG's main police force in the region is Dalmor PD with stations not just in city districts in Port City Dalmor, but in towns and villages across the region.
Penitentiary:-
Port City Dalmor has one single criminal holding facility designed to hold up to 2000 people at maximum capacity. It's a fairly decently secured location for a human establishment, but nothing crazy enough to hold back stronger metahumans.


Their religion is one of the things that Europeans brought with them during the era of colonization. Christianity is one of them. At first, it wasn't much of a thing, but then the pope sitting in Vetican saw a prospering opportunity in the form of a port city, and with the intension of spreading Christianity, would slowly enforce the church onto the Port City. One of his many efforts saw the establishment of the church as the primary religion of Port City Dalmor, with Cathedrals being build to commemorate their status all over the newly forming City. Dalmor and his party had no choice but to give in to the church in an effort to make themselves seem legimitate and not just some pirate establishment to be destroyed in due process. Recognizing the church thus became a strategic move on their part.

Major Attractions

Port Dalmor is one of the biggest and most accommodating ports in the entire world, capable of serving over 35 million TEU on an early basis. As such, the port is considered to be one of the busiest in the entire world and an important point in the Indian Ocean.


Simply called the wall, it is a massive 2 sectioned sea wall over 200 meters in height from the seabed. The wall is designed to open and close over the cove in cases of storms or a tsunami, with each section having a length of roughly 500 meters.

(Per capita income for the citizens of Port City of Dalmor is considerably higher than the nation's average due to its special condition)
