The chips glanced at each other and nodded, looking at the Tektites cheerfully. Aside from the one casualty, they all seemed fine.

Suddenly, a dark blue, star-shaped portal opened up near the Tektites and their chip subjects. Out of it emerged none other than the egg-shaped, big-eared alien who had given Crowned Tektite the Gem Apple way earlier. Magolor looked as though he'd been in a war with a flamethrower, muttering something under his breath in a foreign language.

--

Meta Knight remained silent as Gargan escorted him down the hall, guilt prickling the Kiridan as he continued his regretful thoughts about what he'd just done. He half-listened to the alien as he spoke, but blinked as Gargan's speech was interrupted by one of his guards. Three entities, it seemed, had made contact with one of the smaller ships. Meta Knight couldn't help but feel confused as to who... he hadn't seen anyone around when he'd been outside the ships.

As expected, Gargan ordered his new servant to go out and eliminate the threat. Meta Knight gazed up at the alien silently. He knew there was nothing he could do- whether it was due to his own slip of the tongue or not, Gargan was his leader now. He had no choice but to follow his orders... at least for the time being.

The Star Warrior dipped his head to the creature in agreement, then turned and headed for the crater in the ship through which he'd been escorted in the first place. He slipped the spiked gray wristband over his right arm before exiting, noting that it seemed to fit perfectly despite how short his arms were. He couldn't help but feel uncomfortable with it on.

With an inaudible sigh, Meta Knight exited the ship, emerging back into the void of space to fulfill his first task under the Noizoid emperor.

--

"Poyo! Poyo!" Kirby called out, suddenly remembering that he was trying to find Meta Knight. He chased after Tempo and Tappy, looking at them desperately. "Poyo poyo? Meh-nah gone poyo. Heeewlp.. fiiiind.. poyo?" he tried to say, clearly not a very adept speaker at all. His sentences were broken, and his words were very jumbled and hard to understand. But from what could be understood, it appeared that the little puff was indeed looking for someone.

The chips and their two Tektite leaders watched in surprise as another portal opened in front of them. Both Tektites were prepared to fight another chip-devouring entity but were relieved to find out that it was only Magolor. He seemed to have been lit on fire recently, but they were glad to see a familiar face nonetheless. Both Tektites approached him as Crowned Tektite spoke.

"Hey! Long time no see! How you've been?"

Robed Tektite then added, "Hey, you OK, buddy? You look like you've seen a thing or two..." It rubbed its chin as it examined Magolor's charred body.

------------------------------

Gargan watched as Meta Knight left his ship, then watched him move through space towards the smaller ship in question. He wasn't aware of who was on his ship since the outside of his ships were not equipped with cameras, but Gargan wasn't concerned. He figured that some alien pests or even the carcasses of his defeated minions from earlier made contact with the ship. The Emperor thought that Meta Knight could handle it on his own, whatever it may be.

In the meantime, Gargan noticed that the plank that rested next to Meta Knight when he first arrived was missing. In its place was a hellish summoning circle, which began to spout flames and devilish screaming. Gargan arched his eyebrow as him and his guards witnessed the circle summon a measly white rabbit. The Emperor was slightly nervous about what the circle was summoning but laughed once he saw the rabbit. Eventually, all his guards anxiously joined in his laughter, before he commanded them to stop.

The albino rabbit reminded him of one he knew. Though this rabbit seemed like a regular one, the one he knew was almost humanoid and cartoonish. It even had a similar color scheme to the rabbit he thought of. However, the comparison was not in a good light, as the bunny he thought of was friends with a little boy... His mortal enemy. He leaned forward with his hands behind his back as he examined the animal.

"Um... Hello little guy..." He used one of his large hands to lightly pet the creature's ears.

-------------------------------

Tempo stopped in his tracks, much to Tappy's dismay. He tilted his head at Kirby inquisitively.

"What...? You're trying to find who now?"

Tappy thumped his rabbit foot on the ground impatiently before exclaiming, "Aw, c'mon, Tempo! We don't got all day! They're gonna spot us soon!"

"Hold on a second, Tappy. It's trying to find someone!"

"I'm sure they can find them on their own. Let's go!"

"What if they were kidnapped by Gargan?"

"What would he want with somebody like that thing?" Tappy pointed at Kirby. "It literally has no use for him! It wouldn't hurt a fly! And hey, if their friend's in here, we can rescue them. Alright, Tempo, let's ro- What is that...?"

Tempo looked up to spot a dark figure out in space, headed their way. Instinctively, Tempo rose his staff, as they both prepared for a possible attack. They must've been spotted.

It seemed to be calm, although this could be explained by fatigue from being summoned. In part of where the summoning circle was, "Rabbit of Caerbannog" seemed to be scrawled in demonic runes that glew against the floor before the runes started to fade. Meanwhile, Plank seemed to be across the room from the rabbit. Facing it without being leaned on anything but the wall.

"Rabbit of... Caerbannog...?" Gargan managed to read the inscription on the floor before it faded away. He wasn't sure of where this "Caerbannog" place was, nor was he sure he even pronounced it correctly. The Emperor was never a religious creature so he more or less assumed that this was just the work of an alien somewhere. It didn't seem that Meta Knight directly caused it, it was this strange board. Speaking of which...

Gargan nearly had a heart attack when he turned around and saw the board leaning against the wall. It faced toward them. After taking a second to recover, Gargan gently picked up the rabbit in his arms before glancing back the board.

"Uh, would any of you like to... Get rid of that? Please?" Whatever this board was, Gargan wanted to get rid of it before it did anything fishy. One of his guards extended a thin mechanical arm from one of its pores as it retrieved the board and went on its way to throw it outside. As it did, the Noizoid Emperor pet the rabbit in its arms. "You're a cute little fella..."

Magolor looked from Crowned Tektite to Robed Tektite, blinking in confusion. He recognized the little blue alien, but since when were there two of him? And for that matter, since when could he talk?

Magolor just shrugged it off, deciding he'd go with it anyway.

"Nice to see you again, buddy!" he greeted the Crowned Tektite, then turned to his robed counterpart. "You have no idea..." he mumbled. "It turns out that four-headed dragon is still angry at me from when I tried to steal its crown, so uh... yeah. It wasn't happy to see me."

--

Kirby watched the exchanged between Tappy and Tempo with a puzzled expression, as he tried to make sense of what they were saying. Unfortunately, most of it went over his head regardless.

Well, whoever this "Gargan" was, he definitely seemed like a bad guy.

As Tappy abruptly cut off, seeming to spot something up ahead, Tempo looked up to see what the bunny was talking about. Kirby followed his gaze off into the distance, and saw a dark figure heading toward them. Kirby blinked, squinting his blue eyes slightly. There was something familiar about that figure... could it be...

It was.

Meta Knight!

Kirby would recognize those glowing yellow eyes anywhere, and as the knight drew closer and closer, it became more obvious. Kirby's mouth stretched into a delighted smile. Meta Knight was safe after all! It look like he'd managed to to escape! Kirby just knew the knight wouldn't-

...

The puffball blinked, his smile slowly evaporating. There was something off about the way the blue warrior approached them.

With a jolt of horror, Kirby recognized that pose all too well. That was his mentor's fighting stance.

That certainly didn't bode well.

--

Meta Knight traversed through space, his intimidating glowing eyes set on the three shapes in the distance. The knight approached them quickly, and as he drew closer, he could identify what they were. A white bunny, a little boy, and... Kirby?

Meta Knight almost looked surprised for a moment, and he realized with a stab of guilt that the little puffball must have been looking for him.

This didn't stop the knight, however, and he soon stood before the trio, his unblinking yellow eyes piercing right into them.

"What are you lot doing here?" the round knight growled in a menacing voice. His stare skipped right over Kirby, however, as if the puffball wasn't even there. "I will give you a fair chance to leave now. If not..."

He drew his sacred blade again, its beautiful golden surface shinining and glimmering with the starlight, which made it even more of an intimidating sight.

"... The results could have a... rather unpleasant outcome."

When the guard blinked, the plank seemed to be gone, now seeming to be almost 'hiding' behind a bit of debris just ahead of them. Although it still seemed to stare in the direction of the rabbit. Something actually seemed visible on it's bottom, almost looking like the same stuff used for the summoning circle. If it had summoned the rabbit though... why would it be this keen in distancing itself from the rodent while still watching it?

Crowned Tektite rudely prevented Robed Tektite from responding by exclaiming, "Wow! A four-headed dragon?! That sounds gnarly!"

"Nobody says that anymore..." The robed Tektite muttered as it crossed its tentacles. The other Tektite than excitedly floated towards the group of chips nearby.

"Oh! And these are our loyal subjects. Say 'hi,' guys!"

Just as Crowned Tektite began to interact with the living tortilla chips, Robed Tektite asked Magolor a question of his own.

"How'd you get in that portal in the first place?"

-------------------------

Tempo and Tappy watched as Meta Knight landed in front of them. He seemed similar to the pink creature they were just interacting with and it seemed to recognize it. However, they saw that Kirby lost their enthusiasm once they saw that his friend may be hostile. Tempo kept his staff up, ready to fight. Tappy then spoke to Meta Knight.

"Well, we're just passing by... We didn't mean any harm! We'll just leave..." The bunny nervously fidgeted.

"No, we aren't!" Tempo quickly interjected before Meta Knight began to threaten them. They watched as Meta Knight drew out his magnificent golden sword. Tappy flinched, but Tempo continued to glare at the warrior, readying his musical staff. That's when he noticed the spiked bracelet Meta Knight wore.

At first, Tempo assumed that Kirby's friend was just acting defensively. Eventually, though, Tempo realizes that Meta Knight had paid a visit with Gargan himself, judging from the bracelet's presence. The creature must've been influenced by the Noizoid Emperor!

"I'm not scared of you! I know who you work for. You're making a terrible choice. He's a no-good liar! He'll dispose of you eventually when he no longer finds you useful. When he doesn't need you..." Tempo's grip on the Melodian Staff tightened.

"I'll fight you to the death! We won't back down!" Tappy cringed in the background since Tempo was the only one with a weapon.

--------------------------

Meanwhile, the guard feverishly looked around before finding the board. It must be capable of teleportation, it thought. It floated over to the board again and picked it from the pile of debris. It was then that the minion noticed the material from the bottom of the board. It was similar to the material used to make the summoning circle and the guard touched it, collecting it on its mechanical fingers. It curiously examined it before being interrupted by Gargan.

"What are you doing? Didn't I tell you to throw it outside?"

The guard turned around to reply. "Of course! I'm on my way."

Afterward, Gargan sat down on his throne, the bunny still in his arms. He pet the creature as he admired it. It was a while since he had a pet. Last time he had one, it was an infant world-destroyer he named Fred. Sadly, it ran away. He likes to think that Fred is off somewhere, happily devouring planets without him...

"I guess I can just call you Caerbannog, right?" the emperor cooed. "I was never good with names. It would be better than just, I don't know, Fred 2..."

Eventually a red aura seemed to shatter around it, a sign of the summoning fatigue wearing off, although it seemed to not be aggressive... yet.. "Fred 2" didn't seem to offend it too much, being from a ancient period in earth, it seemed to appreciate this was the name it finally got, interpreting it as Fredrick II.

Meanwhile the plank seemed to teleport near where master hand had been, staring down at the chips, before getting hit by a familiar person trapped flying through space. This actually seemed to stop Alexander.

Magolor looked mildly amused at Crowned Tektite's reaction to his description of the dragon. He then watched as the alien introduced him to... a massive horde of sentient tortilla chips? Chips? Was he seeing this right?

Okay then...

The Halcandran turned again upon hearing Robed Tektite asking him how he'd gotten into the portal he'd emerged from. Magolor appeared quite pleased with the question. "Well, I happen to have control over dimensions!" he replied proudly. "I can open a portal to any place you can think of, anytime."

This, of course, was only partially true- there was a limit as to how far away the location of his portals could be as opposed to his current location. But he liked to flourish it. Besides, the limit wasn't that severe.

The alien turned slightly upon hearing a collision, to see a wooden plank appear and then immediately get hit by someone who was flying through space at high speed. The impact seemed to finally stop him.

"... Whoa dude. You okay?"

--

Meta Knight actually seemed to flinch at Tempo's statement of how Gargan would drop him the second he was no longer of use. Was what the boy said really true? A look briefly flashed in the armored knight's yellow eyes- Hesitance? Regret? It almost seemed as if he believed what Tempo had said.

However, he didn't back down yet.

The longer Meta Knight lingered there, the more apparent it became. The warrior looked as though he didn't actually want to do this. Like he would much rather let the three go. Even his emotionless yellow eyes looked conflicted as he stood in silence.

He hadn't even meant to say he'd work for Gargan. He wanted to let them go. But he couldn't do that... surely he couldn't do that.

He maintained his position, staring Tempo and Tappy down, looking visibly conflicted. I... I have no choice. It's too late to back down now.

But I'll find a way to help them later on.

"...Very well," the warrior said coolly at long last, his glowing yellow eyes once again resting on Tempo. "If you wish to challenge me, then your wish shall be granted."

But you will not experience my power, he added silently, knowing that Tappy and Tempo were in the right more than he was.

As long as he could keep control of himself, contain that power-hungry monster that still lurked somewhere deep within him, from his days as one of Nightmare's strongest demon-beasts...

Robed Tektite was excitedly bouncing in the air. If Magolor could go anywhere, would it be too much to ask for a specific request? Maybe it could visit beautiful paradise planets far across the galaxy or goto where Magolor was from. Maybe the Tektites could somehow go where they were born. Although, it may be unlikely, considering neither of them actually remembers where they originated.

Just then, the Tektites watched as a being flew through space, stopping suddenly when they had collided with a wooden board. Crowned Tektite approached Alexander then pat their head with one of its tentacles.

"Ouch! That looked like it hurt. What's your name, buddy?"

While the Tektite with the crown spoke with the stranger, the tektite in robes floated up to the plank and picked it up. "Ooh... What is this thing...?"

-----------------------

For a moment, Tempo thought that he actually managed to change Meta Knight's mind. However, the hope in his eyes diminished as the warrior spoke again. He supposed that he would have to drive him off the hard way. After Meta Knight was done, Tempo struck first. The young boy first whistled a few notes, causing four living note creatures to appear from nowhere beside him. The jingle he sang had a fifth final note, which ended up being emitted from Tempo's staff itself, and it was much louder and livelier than Tempo's whistling. The final note was a cue for the four other notes to suddenly absorb themselves into the staff, giving it great power. All of this happened in a matter of a few seconds, and once that was over, Tempo finally attempted to strike at Meta Knight. If the hit was successful, the force could launch Meta Knight out in space for several hundred feet. If not, the staff will hit the surface of Gargan's ship and create a formidable crack on it. Either way, the staff will emit a loud but musically pleasing note on impact, clashing with Gargan and the Noizoids' obnoxious noises.

------------------------

Inside Gargan's main ship, the Emperor was still interacting with the bunny that was summoned by the wooden plank earlier. Gargan watched in great concern as a demonic aura surrounded the rabbit. However, the creature seemed to like that name Gargan suggested. He chuckled nervously before speaking again.

"...Heh... So, you actually like that name? Fred 2? Well, I guess that's what I'll call you..."

"Sir,"

"What?!" The minion that was supposed to remove the plank had approached the Emperor once again.

"The wooden board, it disappeared from my hands! I don't know where it went..."

"You've gotta be kidding me. I can't even trust you to take out the trash? Whatever, it's gone now, isn't it? Get lost."
