@Golden_ I made a quick lil map of it! The colored bit is considered the Frontier. It shrinks slightly every few years as more societies are established, but this is the general span of it!

Works now, thank you!

Name: Kaila

Age: 20

Gender: F

Hair color: Dark blonde

Eye color: blue

Height and build: 5’6” - athletically built, with defined muscles, with the slightly wider hips of someone who’s had a baby or two.

Clothing preference: Woven fabrics, usually rougher homespun - linen or cotton in the summer, wool in the winter. Her clothing is often decorated with small beads of painted clay, tightly sewn on.

.
Cent loyalty: The Motherhood.
In a post-apocalyptic world, someone has to be committed to repopulation. Certainly there are other Cents where it’s possible to raise a family, but the Motherhood is committed to the ideal. Full membership in the Motherhood Cent is strictly limited to women who have proven their ability to bear a child. As no family can be strong if the only thing they court is one another, the women of child-bearing age spend a lot of time traveling, seeking out interesting men more or less like prized studs. The women return to the Cent when it’s time to have a baby, and the child is reared by the Cent, mostly by women past their childbearing years. Young women traditionally remain with the tribe for a year after bearing their first offspring to act as wet nurses for any children born in that period, but with later offspring they’ll only remain for a month or two. Some of the girls may later be inducted into the tribe. The boys and the rest of the girls are sold into other Cents when they’re around 8-12 - not so much as slave labor, though there is no doubt that happens as well, but mostly so that other Cents can continue to exist without the tedious process of child-rearing.

Members of the Motherhood are marked with a tattoo of a flowering vine up one arm. A flower is added for each live birth, a leaf for each miscarriage or stillbirth.

Background:
Kaila was born into the Motherhood and raised by the clan along with all the other children of the clan. The Motherhood makes very little distinction as to who belongs to whom during childhood - all children of Clan mothers are children of the Clan. She learned to work with textiles, often gained in trade for children of the clan. As she showed promise, she was kept rather than sold, and sent out into the world at 14. She returned to the Clan a year later, to have her first child, and remained there for the traditional year before setting out again. She’s borne two more children since, leaving the last of them behind two months ago to set out into the world once more.

Weapons:
A pair of sharp knives, multi-purpose, used for self-defense or skinning or filleting or harvesting

Possessions:
Knives - 2, multipurpose
Rucksack - knitted wool
Drop-spindle
Knitting needles - small gauge, medium gauge, large gauge
Small metal pot
Small clay pot
Spoons - wooden, 1 small, 1 large
Clay cup
Blanket / bedroll - wool

Skills/talents:
Textile arts - Knitting, crocheting, weaving, sewing
Foraging - Kaila is not much of a hunter, but she’s very good at knowing edible plants and finding things like eggs or insects. She’ll hunt opportunistically - if there’s an injured animal, she can bring it down, but she’s not primarily a hunter.
Cooking - can make a reasonably edible meal out of just about anything.

Personality:
Open, but not overly excitable. Kaila doesn’t keep secrets, nor do anything that would require her to start keeping secrets. She’s comfortably secure in the knowledge that she’s already left behind a handful of descendants, so even though she’s continuing to attempt to do so, she feels like she’s done her part and her legacy will continue, so she doesn’t need to worry overmuch about things.

Others view me as:
Either a heroine or a brood-mare, depending on how they feel about the Motherhood.

Character theme:
Setting Sail, Coming Home

Miscellaneous:
The tattoo on her left arm has three morning glory flowers and two ivy leaves

@illirica Looks great! If you wouldn’t mind, would you now put it on the CS thread? I think that I put a link for it in the reply with the sheets.

Yep, I saw the link! I'll shift it over there - might take a run through and pretty up my paragraph breaks and do some light formatting on it when I have a chance, too.

Name: Sei

Age: 25

Gender: Female

Hair color: Light brown

Eye color: Hazel

Height and build: Wiry and moderately tall, standing at 5'10".

Appearance info: If anything peturbs her, Sei lets nothing betray her impassionate smile. She makes an effort to appear well-mannered and unbothered in any situation, speaking plainly when she feels the need to.

Clothing preference: Sei seemingly wears business formal attire from the days of the Anno Domini period, complete with a deep grey long coat, tie. Old black work boots complete the ensemble. Her clothes are noticeably faded, very well-worn and unironed, but mostly clean (save for some stubborn stains) from regular washing over the course of many years. While capable of wearing something less classy, she much prefers her neo-noir look when interacting with others.

Weapons:
  • Pistol Crossbow: A sleek miniature crossbow that is usually kept on Sei's belt, concealed underneath her long coat. With an effective range of 50 meters, it is always kept loaded in the case of an ambush with spare ammunition clipped to the receiver. More bolts are kept clipped to the other side of Sei's belt.
  • Knives: Strapped to her belt, outer thigh, inner calf, and the small of her back are holsters containing identical small knives, numbering four in total, in the case of unavoidable close-quarter combat or simply mundane tasks requiring a sharp tool. Sei's coat conceals most of them from view.
Possessions:
  • Worn black leather business satchel
  • Bandages
  • Durable notebook and several pencils
  • Salt bottles
  • Bottles of painkillers
  • Flask of alcohol
  • Old Zippo lighter
  • Pouch of tea leaves
  • Small thermos
  • Several freeze-dried food packs
  • Spare clothes
  • Spool of wire
Background: Sei is in the minority of those that venture through the Frontier without a Cent to call home. She calls herself a historian and keeps on the move, travelling from Cent to Cent, occassionally even making her way to societies outside the Frontier if only for brief periods of time. Upon arriving at a Cent, Sei offers to sell luxury or in-demand items in return for comparatively little, staying for a few days before departing and repeating the cycle with another settlement. During her stays she is frequently observed asking questions about traditions and culture, curiously probing into the typical lifestyles of settlers.

Before her current lifestyle, she was raised outside of the Frontier in a settlement not far from its border in an orphanage, homeschooled by the matron until she turned 8, then was adopted. It was then Sei was taught all manner of subjects ranging from history and economics all the way to how to fight and administer medical aid. Eventually, at the age of 16, Sei became a member of the peacekeeping force of her settlement and continued to serve until 19, at which point she quit and turned towards a job that would give an opportunity to venture outside of the settlement.

Skills/talents:
  • Poker-Faced: When she wants, nothing beyond the slightest of smiles or a completely blank expression is shown on Sei's face.
  • Aware: Sei is always mindful of her surroundings and the people she interacts with, staying perceptive.
  • Medical Knowledge: Capable of basic first-aid and more advanced treatment depending on tools and facilities avaliable.
  • Markswoman: Sight, a functioning arm, a loaded crossbow, and a distance smaller than four dozen meters is all Sei requires to let loose a well-aimed steel bolt at any target she wishes.
  • Knife Fighter: Trained in the use of short knives, Sei is proficient in close-quarter combat with them.

Personality: Sei is polite and well-spoken, looking at the world from a perspective that could be considered coldly logical. She likes to communicate directly through words instead of actions, speaking frankly with others with no trace of discomfort. Despite this, however, she dislikes opening up about herself and avoids the topic whenever possible.

Others view me as: Mysterious and hard to get a read on, but well-intentioned.

Character theme: Logic - Abo Takeshi

Name:
Eden

Nickname/s:
Currently introduces herself as Aiden

Age:
24

Gender:
Female

Hair color:
White-ish blonde

Eye color:
Dark blue

Height and build:
Tall for a woman; standing at 5'11. Strong with an athletic build.

Appearance info:
Her long, naturally pale blonde hair is often tied back in braids, keeping it from falling into her rounded face. Small painted beads wrap around smaller strands, simply for the purpose of adornment. She has fair skin that's dotted with freckles when exposed to harsh sunlight.

Her back is intricately tattooed with markings and symbols - all of which represent the completion of each trial associated with her original Cent. Her face is also tattooed, binding her to the Caza indefinitely. Battle scars litter her arms, legs, and torso.

Cent loyalty (if applicable):
Originally Caza, but currently resides among the vastly different Fisk people.

The Caza:
Well-known for their warriors and wealth. Typically feared by other, smaller Cents, and as a result, are often paid to maintain peace. First and foremost, warriors fight for the Cent, but they can also be hired to protect other Cents or individuals should the price be desirable.

The Fisk:
A smaller, peaceful Cent located in the central area of the Frontier, surrounded by thick forests and vast lakes. They survive primarily by fishing. A tight-knit community that hardly sees outsiders.

Clothing preference:
Born and raised in the North, Eden grew up wearing thick animal furs and hardened leather. She would often don armor when apart  of the Caza. After she left, travelling further South to escape, Eden shed the clothing to go for something more weather-appropriate. She typically wears a cotton tunic that laces up the front along with darker pants, usually made with a similar material. Basically anything that allows her to blend in. While residing with the Fisk, Eden wears tightly bound leather sandals, though she keeps her old leather boots safely stashed away. Often times, Eden also throws on a thin cloak with a large hood, allowing for her face to remain hidden from the sun, and more importantly, from prowling eyes.

Weapons (if any):
-  A large sword, one that was made for her specifically when she turned 18.
- A handful of smaller throwing daggers (3).
- A beautifully carved wooden bow with engraved designs, paired with a small bundle (9) of matching arrows.

Possessions (if any):
- The clothes on her back
- Some of her old clothing and armor from the North: a large cloak made of animal furs, leather boots with matching gloves, a hardened leather tunic, along with an iron breastplate. She keeps these in her current residence, locked away safely inside a wooden chest.
- A cowhide backpack
- 4 metal fish hooks
- A coil of fishing string
- A small metal pot
- A metal cylinder/thermos, which is either filled with water or food.
- A reusable storage cloth made of beeswax. She typically uses this to store dried fish or other meals.

Background:
Eden was born into the higher ranks of the Caza Cent, one of the larger, and more wealthy groups within the Frontier. Located in north-east of the Frontier, the Caza are well known for their brutal upbringing, their blood-thirsty warriors, and their wealth. At the age of 8, their young begin the training process, which consists of numerous trails, testing their physical and mental strength. Children are reared within the group, though a large majority are bought from the Motherhood, in exchange for goods and protection.

Upon each trial completion, children are tattooed; permanently reminding them of who they are and what they did to become that warrior. Those unable to complete a trail, and as a result, unable to move forward with training, are either a.) used in other necessary daily tasks should they have a remarkable talent, b.) sold to another Cent, or c.) simply killed. Although Eden's father was well-known within the Cent, she had to complete the trials and training along with the other children.

At the age of 16, each adolescent is given the opportunity to purse another necessary trade for the remaining two years of their training years (i.e. carpentry, fishing, blacksmithing, gathering, etc). At this time, Eden chose to work with the youngest children, educating them and preparing them for what was to come.

Finally, upon the age of 18, each warrior faces their final test, solidifying them as a Caza warrior for life. Their faces are tattooed, so that they may never forget where they came from. And should they ever betray the Cent, the markings are recognizable enough to give-away a traitor. As a result, those who choose to leave, hardly (if ever), survive for long. Eden got her face tattooed eagerly, proud to finally become a Caza warrior.

At the age of 19, Eden fell pregnant with her first child. At 20, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy, who instantly became the love of her life. Despite her brutal upbringing, the young woman couldn't discard those maternal instincts, and so she succumbed to her duties of caring and providing for the boy. As the boy grew, her father saw his warrior daughter lose sight of who she was meant to be; someone who lived and breathed for the Cent, and the Cent alone. Someone who was meant to lead when the day came. So when her son was two years old, he was killed. Simply tossed aside, like the rest of the unhealthy undesirables.

Eden was stricken with grief, but most of all, she was filled with anger. So in the night she packed her belongings, slipped into her father's chambers, and slit his throat. Then she ran beyond Caza's gloomy walls, heading down south. Away from the cold, and away from her home.

Through her travels, Eden came upon many wanderers; some who were friendly, many who were not. She left a trail of bodies wherever she went, until she was far enough within the Frontier that the unfriendlies grew more scarce. Eventually she found the Fisk Cent, a community that was the complete opposite of what she was used to. She paid a local fisherman a heaping sum for a room, a job, and for pretending that he had hired her. At first, the community members avoided her like the plague, fearful that she may just murder them in their sleep. But as weeks went by, Eden proved herself to be a skilled fisher and an asset to the community.

Skills/talents:
- A skilled fighter in hand-to-hand combat
- A skilled fighter with a sword and knives
- An accurate shot with a bow and arrows
- Physically strong, quick, and agile
- Mentally tough

Personality:
Eden lives up to her home and upbringing, but only partially. Yes, she is a tough, calculating, and robot-like, but primarily when she is doing what she does best. She is also fiercely loyal, protective, and stubborn. But unlike what her father wanted, Eden is also emotional and motherly. As a result, she can make rash decisions that can end in disaster. Despite completing various gruesome trials, Eden has her own moral code, one that she tries to follow to the best of her abilities.

Others view me as:
Intimidating by most, an intimidating trained-killer by those familiar with the Caza.

Character theme:
Still trying to find something... ;-;

Miscellaneous:
Eden has a definite weakness for young children.
