(Awe, Elijah and Claire will always be one of our cutest and sweetest couples!)

Lillian smiled almost apologetically, not meaning to frighten the child further. She carefully drew back her hand and stood up, nodding a little with a bright smile. She figured Ellie would follow her, assuming that'd be more comfortable for the frightened child. "Alrighty then young miss! Right this way..." she said cheerfully but gently, turning a little and starting to head towards the stairs. She paused and looked back to make sure Ellie was coming, she wasn't just going to leave the child up here all alone. "Could you tell me your name Young Miss?" she asked gently, it was a subtle attempt to help Ellie grow more comfortable here. Although there was no telling how much the poor child has been through. A lot I'm sure, Miss Alice doesn't just pick up any lost child. Then again it wasn't like there were a lot of those around here, the villager were close with one another and didn't often let child go astray.

[Of course! They were our very first ship so they definitely would be on that list. c:]

Ellie relaxed a tiny bit when Lillian withdrew her hand, her gaze never leaving her as she stood. It didn't feel like she was going to try anything in that moment, but she had to be careful. For her own comfort. A small sigh left her as she followed after the woman when began walking down the hall, thinking about nothing in particular for she was scared she would start thinking of the bad things again. All the bad things that made her sad and want to cry, the things that had her running through the forest blindly like she had been before Alice found her. She didn't ever want to be like that again...not again. Her attention was pulled back to Lillian when she asked for her name, wringingher hands together. There was nothing wrong with giving her name to someone, she was nice. Not scary like some out there in the world. "E-Ellie..."she mumbled quietly, feeling a little less nervous though it would take time for that to completely fade away. If she was staying here that is, she still didn't know what it was that she wanted to do...she just didn't want to be a burden on anyone. Ellie's been a burden on enough people, or at least that's how she felt.

(I can't even begin to imagine where we would be without them! ^-^ )

"Ellie, my what a pretty name." Lillian commented, a warm smile spilling across her face. "How are you feeling?" She was hoping to gradually get Ellie to open up more, though she knew it would take a great deal of time. The child seemed so frightened and uncertain of the world around her. It made Lillian's heart ache but there was only so much she could do for her, after all, she was certain Miss Alice would take excellent care of the young miss. She began her descent down the stairs, pausing again to peer at Ellie. She wanted to make sure she could get down alright, having little knowledge of the state the young miss was brought in. Miss Alice kept her mouth sealed throughout the night, saying more news would come to light when it was time. Lillian could respect that notion and would not trouble either of them with her curiosity and concerns.

[Same! I feel like they started everything for us. ^-^]

Ellie blushed slightly at the compliment to her name, she wasn't sure if anyone has ever complimented her before. Or she couldn't remember if anyone has. What she could remember were all the horrid and hateful comments, the people who called her a monster and threw things at her. The people whom hurt her and screamed that she should not be alive, better dead than a monster. Those were the things that haunted her mind. She shook her head after a moment, blinking as she looked at Lillian, the lady asking her a question. How was she feeling? Her body still hurt and she felt like disappearing, but she couldn't say those things. They were negative things and she didn't want the nice lady to pity her or feel bad for her, she didn't want to make anyone feel bad because of her. That would make her feel even worse about herself, she felt awful enough and so she would lie. "I'm okay..."she mumbled, glancing at the stairs as they approached those. The stairs we're steep so she had to be careful and take her time getting down them, taking one at a time for her short legs. Ellie felt as if she were wasting Lillian's time, but she couldn't help how short she was.

(Agreed!)

Lillian smiled and nodded "That's good, Miss Alice will be pleased to hear you're doing better." the maid commented. She watched Ellie as she slowly made her way down the stairs, keeping beside the child in case she needed help. Lillian didn't seem to mind, caring more about the safety of Ellie than anything. How dreadful it would be to rush the poor child, Lillian couldn't even begin to imagine it. She was what most would consider 'too kind for this world', not a mean bone in her body. She had a big heart and she always liked to think Miss Alice had a big influence on that. Lillian's first year at the palace was stressful and chaotic. Miss Alice's brothers, the Princes, still lived in the palace and tensions were high at the time. She couldn't recall much of those times and even less what the issues were. At the time her only concern was keeping her job...things got easier when it was just Miss Alice. Although anyone could tell she missed her family and was growing a bit lonely. Lillian watched Ellie with a small smile "Did you sleep alright, Miss Ellie?" she inquired.

Ellie hopped from step to step, holding her arms out on either side of her to not fall over. The soiled shirt was in her left hand, her fist closed tightly around it so that she wouldn't accidentally drop it or something. If she did she would probably freak out and try to catch it which would most likely result in her tumbling down the stairs which didn't sound like fun. That would only add to her injuries and she didn't want to anger or scare Miss Alice because she hurt herself even more than she had been before she came here. Well maybe, some of her smaller wounds had already closed up having started to heal when Miss Alice cleaned her up. It was just the big ones on her back that really needed to heal, it was clearly still bleeding a bit but not as bad as the day before. Vampires healed really fast when they were healthy, cleaned up and fed she noticed. Her gaze went to Lillian, her thoughts fading away, as she asked another questioned, thinking about it for a minute. There had been a really bad storm and woke her up, she had hid under the bed, but she wasn't going to share that specific detail. "...there was a bad storm..."she mumbled quietly, looking back at the stairs as she hopped down a few more of them.

Lillian slowly made her way down the stairs, keeping pace with Ellie. She wanted to offer her some more assistance but was concerned with upsetting the child, or make her feel bad. Lillian was a bit of an over-thinker no doubt, but she tried her best to put her mind at ease. They were in no rush and she was certain Miss Alice wouldn't mind the wait. "There was wasn't there? Nasty storm, kept me up all night." Lillian replied gently, a soft smile still lingering on her lips. It was true, the storm had been a strong one and she was never fond of them to begin with. She wasn't afraid of them so much as she simply struggled to sleep. She began humming softly, a tune she often used while cleaning away the different rooms of the palace. Her job wasn't easy but Miss Alice paid her well and treated her with respect, it was more than she could ever have hoped for.

Ellie knew that help wasn't bad, but she was still feeling too uneasy to be comfortable with accepting too much of it. Especially when she had been given so much help already what with being brought here, given a warm bath and clean clothes to wear. It all felt like too much to her and part of her, a very tiny part, was expecting someone to come up to her, demanding that she repay them for it though she had no money or belongings to do so. These were the kind of worrisome thoughts that she did try her best to keep out of mind though, it wasn't good to think so negatively all the time like this. She frowned a little as she thought about the storm once again, it had been so loud and bright, reminding her of the few storms she had been caught in while she was wandering in the forest. Of course she sorta helped to cause them, but she had been upset and terrified. Maybe last night's had been her fault too. "It was scary..."she mumbled softly, carefully hopping down a few more of the steps a little more quickly. After all she didn't want to take too long; she was sure Lillian had better things to do than watch a little girl hop down the steps. Ellie didn't think that was the most interesting thing in the world to do. "Don't like storm..."
