Mean Girls [Semi-Open]

Post by Ryoko » Sat Apr 25, 2020 9:30 pm

Millenium Grand Mall, 12:17 pm.

Mina was sitting at a table with her ipod and a nice pair of headphones over her ears. The place was bustling with as much activity as you'd expect on a Saturday afternoon. Especially around the food court, and especially around lunch hour. Security seemed to be pretty tight, too.

Mina glanced down at her watch.

"-a"

Aside from the girl sharing a table and some nachos with her, the only person there who Mina knew was the new weekend employee at the Mall's Smash Burger. Though, everyone who went to Millennium academy knew her. You couldn't not know her. The boys all loved her and, if you were a girl, you either served her or became a victim of her bullshit. And she had fucking everything.

"-ina"

She glanced down at her again.

The burger-flipping bitch's name was Rachel Sauciera. Sauciera. Even her last name was sexy. But let's go down the list of everything she had. So smart that everyone thinks she'll be valedictorian at graduation. The charisma to make all the teachers and boys think she's perfect while she beat down, robbed and demoralized everyone who she couldn't control. She had bulletproof skin, enchanced speed, and more than enough strength to punch through concrete. Oh and she also had huge jugs. Like double D juggs.

Like, we're in highschool, how the fuck-

"MINA!"

A firm hand on her shoulder brought Ms. Koroko out of her trance. She pulled the headphones down from off of her ears and met the girl's eyes.

"You okay?

"Yeah, I'm fine, I'm just... thinking about our quiz on Tuesday." Mina replied.

"We've got three days. We'll study later, but I'll kick your ass if you make me waste my money on this food."

"Alright, alright," she slid her headphones back, grabbed a chip with her left hand, and checked her watch with her right.

"Are you waiting for someone?"

An loud crash on one of the floors below them. Mina scarfed down a the chip, then turned the volume on her Ipod waaaaay up.

"Nope," she replied casually, with a smile.

On the ground floor, two levels below them, a wolf, measuring 8 feet in height and 18 feet in length, burst through the Mall's sliding doors before they had a chance to open. Responders moved to engage the beast before it had a chance to harm anyone... but then it roared. And,just as quickly as they came, the mall's security sprinted away from the beast as quickly as possible.

It raced up the escalators, footprints damaging the metallic ridges as it moved, and advanced upon the Smash burger at nearly 80mph. For a short while, nobody on the third floor with Mina moved. These things happened often enough to where people had learned not to move around or panic until the danger had proven its ability to get past the super-powered security protecting the place.

But, as the beast's golden eyes and peered over the top of the last escalator and it's black fangs came into view, people began to realize that this was no normal threat, and began to move. Well, a few of them did, anyway. The beast slowly approached the Smash burger, knowing full-well what it was here to do. For a second there, Rachel was acting like she was going to fight the wolf. And honestly, she might've been able to take him... until he roared.

Apparently there weren't too many people who appreciated the sound. Mina didn't care much for it either, but she could barely hear herself think at that moment, so it wasn't too much of a concern for her. You see, that roar had a special effect on anyone who heard it. It hijacked one's emotions and brought them to the height of fear. Instant hysteria. As much as she hated to admit it, Rachel probably could've taken care of the thing on her own if she wasn't losing her mind. Truthfully, there were plenty of guards who could've taken the wolf on their own, but they were too busy pissing their pants to try.

And judging by the golden liquid trailing down Rachel's leg right now, she wasn't handling the fear much better.

By this point, Mina was hiding behind an overturned bench with her her lunch date; holding the girl tightly. She'd been trying to comfort the girl but, every so often, she glanced out to see how well her pet had been doing. Rachel seemed to be breaking down by this point, struggling to move or even breath properly. The wolf growled once more, then began to sprint towards Ms. Sauciera.

It was nice to see her cowering in fear for once.

Uh... let' see.
Standard rules apply.
Let's try to keep it street level
Have fun? Sure.
And I think that's everything.

From the sideline, a food tray flew in on a low trajectory that would see it slip under the colossal beast's front paw as it ran and cause it's reckless sprint to halt. As well as introduce snout to floor. "Run, overly developed high-school girl! Don't just stand there!"

Henry shouted from the opposite side of the rapidly vacating hall towards the Smash Burger staff member. He wasn't particularly great at anything other than being precise and making things difficult for himself. Truth be told, this definitely wasn't how he imagined his day going. All he wanted were some rolling papers and some brewskis.

Now he forced himself into dealing with a humongous wolf thing made out of stabby and bitey bits with nothing to defend himself. Though others were running and yelling, Henry stood firm if with a bead of sweat running down his forehead. It was the beast in its entirety that intimidated him while the howl was what excited him.

You see, Henry... Henry was a bit of a thrill junkie who used to do all kinds of insane shit for a living.

And look where it got him.

Oh. I like this color!
Image

Within Sacha's hands was something of a long sleeve shirt. Both pink and with black stripes. But she didn't have anything to go with it. It probably meant that she would have to get a black skirt to go with it. She put it in her bag, wedged within pairs of leggings she'd gotten. And all at a fair price. There wasn't really much reason to break Kate's bank, and the girl liked to judge with her eyes rather than with a price tag. Some of the more shirts had an admittedly better texture. But really it was too marginal of a difference for her to really want to wear it.

Her hands passed through many other assortments of skirts to add to a growing collection.

Too itchy....too loose. To big. Too pricey.

She stopped, a smile growing on her her face as she beams at it picking it up and looking it over.

Just right.

A shudder went up her spine. And she found the skirt slipping from her fingers. A distant roar hitting her hypersensitive ears. She looked around at the store. Seemingly empty. And a part of her wondered "was it my imagination?" Sacha picked the skirt back up and then placed it in the bag. And yet there was no cashier there for some reason. Yet she sensed a presence. Something. Boldly, her hands gripped the counter and she propped herself high enough to be able to see over the counter.

And there the cashier was. Hiding under the table. Shuddering. The noise echoed again. And Sacha then took in a deep breath. And then breathed. Out left stress, fear and frustration that came from the creature as she dropped her bag on the counter.

Now is definitely not the time to be shopping.
.
The noise sounded distant in her little corner of the dressing room. Soon, other noises accompanied it. The muffle sounds of screams and the trembling in the floor as people ran.

The girl dashed, having a note of where every single camera was. Sadly while she was getting undressed, some people had taken to locking the glass doors to keep people from flooding in. She whips out her glock and unloads two paintballs in it to soften it up before her knee slams into the crack.

CRASH!!
Image

Glass shatters as she bursts out into the open lanes of the mall and enters a tidle wave of fleeing people. "OOF." The young hero goes part way against the floor, people slamming into her left and right. "Agh....Pardon me....Excuse me....Vigilante coming through!" She smiled laughing faintly to herself. Half-hearted of what sort of smile she would usually be having.

I hope people are alright.

There was no getting through this crowd for the little girl in any type of timely manner. But soon she found a clearing at a glasses stand. After a brief breath, her fingers working with strength and agility to propel her up to the top of the kiosk as soon, she jumps. Hands grab a sign as she swings up to grab a ledge on the the second floor railing. She pulls herself up and vaults it, sprinting through another wave of people along the sparser upper floors. A person came every now and again, and she dodged. One man appeared in front of her and she swiftly juked him and span with the grace of running back before moving forward without missing a beat.

The food court was empty. And within moments Sacha saw it. The wolf. It's predatory eyes locked on rampaging through the mall but on targeting one specific person. The situation captured in her eyes she raised her gun. Loaded with lethal rounds. One round and she could take out it's eyes. It moved fast. But it wasn't faster than a bullet.

BANG

She missed. For the first time in a long time, it wasn't that her enemy had literally dodged her bullet. It wasn't that someone moved quick enough to get behind cover and evade her fire. It wasn't that someone had thrown something which blocked or otherwise intercepted her ammunition. She simply...missed.

Why am I shaking?

The world slowed. Her heart was pounding in her chest so much that it hurt. Her breathing was deep and erratic in a time when it doesn't need to be. As she held her gun, she noticed her sight trending. The thing was moving, bulldozing tables with each passing fraction of a second. Getting closer and closer to not just the target but of some guy who stood in the way. She wanted to run as it roared. As if to save herself. She had so much to lose now. Someone who she loved. People who cared about her and who she cared about too.

And yet as terror took her, other thoughts. What of the girl? What of the man? What of their painful deaths? If she folded here...wouldn't that make her weak and not prepared for the brutal world set before her?

A deep breath. And instead a calm exhale, she started to yell at volumes which nearly rivaled the sound of the accompanying gunfire.

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Image

Twenty-nine rounds mag-dumped in moments with a wide spear nearly a foot long. All aimed towards the side of the creature's face. Hopefully one of them would hit one of the creature's eyes and lending it more vulnerable to the lunch tray positioned in front of it.

Ching. The snap back of a receiver snaps backwards to reveal a chamber which had no more bullets. And there was a final click for her frantic mind to verify what she'd heard.

Empty.

Some word. "Run." ran on repeat throughout her mind. And there she stood there like a deer frozen in headlights. A girl wearing a bright and eyecatching purple standing there with trembling eyes and a pile of spent shells next to her like a deer frozen in headlights. There is...something she should be doing next.

Think. Think. Think. Starts with...R.

Millennium City was the nicer side of Duskburg.

Kate Corrington was pretty sure there were a lot of people who'd say she had it backwards there, but she didn't think so. Sure, Duskburg was a bit of a shithole, but it was a shithole with character. It might not be a place you wanted to go to, but it was a place you could say you were from, and people'd respect that a bit. Some people, anyway. Others would look down on it, but they weren't the ones who mattered.

There was always gonna be someone looking down on you, wasn't there? That was why you didn't look up to people. You made your own way, and you did your best, and at the end of it you looked people in the eye like an equal, and that meant you'd made it. Duskburg understood that.

All that being said in its defense, sometimes it was nice to get out of there as well. Good for her, maybe. Good for Sacha, definitely. Kate figured Sacha's life hadn't included a whole lot of time for things like shopping, so she'd made time to take her up to the mall and then done the sensible adult thing and let Sacha wander around a bit on her own. She didn't need Kate looking over her shoulder, and Kate trusted her to...

...well, not to stay out of trouble, but certainly to be able to handle any trouble she found herself in.

That, and Kate must be getting older, because the blaring music from the teen-focused stores made her want to bust out her powers and ice the speakers. She wasn't sure if it was better or worse than Aliria's country-western obsession. More noisy, but less whiny. Kate paused by a few shops, mostly just looking in the windows, staying outside the doors. She'd meet up with Sacha later, and see if she could convince the kid to eat some ice cream or something else equally unhealthy from the mall's selection of options. She was looking at a directory trying to figure out what the options were when the HOWL hit.

What was she doing here? She wasn't safe. She knew she shouldn't be here. Duskburg was her place now, and she felt safe there, but Millennium City was another matter. Millennium City might well sell her out to Assurance. This was a public area, they could be anywhere. She looked back over her shoulder, her body moving into a stance, the sort of position she could run from if she needed. She had to get out of here.

She couldn't leave without Sacha. Where would she be?

She'd be... she'd be wherever the noise was coming from. Kate took off in that direction, intent on getting her and getting them both out of here before they got caught. The noise led her to the food court, and the only thing that mattered there was Sacha. She was okay. Kate could still get her out of here before they got shot.

The giant wolf, she realized a moment later, might be more of an issue. But... no, Sacha had that one under control. Giant wolves, no problem. Take it down and get out of here, before Assurance could grab them. Sacha knew that. She'd move and they'd both pull back.

She'd move.

Why isn't she moving?

The girl stood facing the monster, frozen in place. Kate put a hand up, a scattering of icicles dropping down in front of Sacha, to startle her out of whatever trance she'd gone into.

Her name was Hisa, the daughter of the blue dragon of summer. She was a Lotus the niece of the gold dragon of winter. This though wasn't about the cult she called family, this was about actual blood related family. Two women had been responsible for the death of her father, one a younger woman early teens if she had to guess. There was some masking of identity was going to be difficult to follow. The other woman who seemed to know the young killer, was not so hard to find as her skin was a signature blue. Finding anything on either of them but give it enough time and news got out of an azure skinned woman in Duskburg.

So Hisa took to, well stalking to be honest. Trying to find a subject and follow them, she didn't like the idea of stalking but revenge trumped methods used. Amusingly though finding something was easiest when not looking however. The dark blue haired assassin had been across from the mall visiting a simple book store. She didn't like the other Lotus to know or see but she honestly was in love with just reading. Of going through books of fantasy or bleak futures, usually the ones with love stories relatively woven into them. Sure Hisa had been raised to be a murderer, but she hadn't given up on love just yet. It helped that Bob was an advocate for it.

She was leaving the store, a bag having Ninja Love A Tale of Dragons bound inside. It was volumes one through six point five, the whole collection so far. As excited as she was though that mood only grew as she saw someone blue going into the mall. With gentle care the book wyvern went to her motorcycle in the parking lot and put her books away. Swapped it with a purse home to to her more flower group related gear. Then began to head toward the mall. She'd have to catch up to her prey, try and learn if the target she was looking for was in fact the particular query. Tonight might not be the one where she set homes on fire, or looked to pull the blood from sleeping bodies but some day soon.

That said turned out finding someone in a mall was hard when it was Millenium. Wasn't like some of those other cities where the shop center felt like it was starting to die, it was busier here. Not having much luck the Wyvern Lotus decided to make her way toward the food court. Decent chance the duo she was hunting would converge there at some point and if she scouted a bit she could probably have a good eye on most exits. Plans changed though, as in a bit of time a wolf had arived on the scene.

It howls as one would expect, but the sound cut through her.

Hisa didn't think herself afraid of much. Her family was gone, there was rumor some Lotus could come back from death so her fate wasn't something to dread. She was beaten and broken until strong there was no reason to dread pain. That sound though tore through all such defenses though. The closest she had felt to how she did now was when uncle Hiro had his boot on her throat. She couldn't move for a second.

Her hands were trembling she wasn't so sure she could be as accurate as her abilities needed. Hisa did want to act though, there were a few couples in the food court who didn't need to be reduced to dog chow. Then it came the woman running in who's skin was blue. A young woman dropping through glass and unloading on the creature. "I won't look weak around them." She muttered to herself, fear alone disgusted her but someday soon more importantly a Lotus was to get revenge. She couldn't be so helpless before them.

So Hisa though hands shaking got to her feet pulled out a weapon that maybe was to telling but she wasn't thinking about that right now. In fear she went to the weapon she knew. A chained kunai the weapon steel but ornamented in gold in honor of her uncle. She sprinted in and with a throw sought to fling the kunai toward the muzzle of the towering wolf. Seeking to pin the drooling maw closed. "S-s-sit boy!" The Lotus called out, stumbling in her words from the fear seeping into her being.

Ryth quietly enjoyed her morning, a plate of eggs, ribs and mashed potatoes sat on her plate. This was not the menu of the venue that they openly advertised, but she had a mean appetite one more vicious than most body builders. There were teenagers sitting around her at the joint in the mall, teenagers she did not bother with, her attention was primarily set on her PDA, reading of public records of anomalies, one most recently that had appeared in the news to have plagued Chicago.

Thankfully Doom Corp did not have jurisdiction or got many contracts in the states to speak of. Doom Corp had its sphere of influence localized to Europe and Asia. Her trip here though was purely for the sake of vacation. Millenium City had one thing no other city in the world had, technology. And while she was here, Ryth had set her mind on attending some expos, though hopefully nothing that was the disaster of MetaCon 2019.

It was sudden. Her attention was stolen by commotion behind her. Looking back she saw an 8 foot tall Wolf, with golden eyes charge up an escalator on to the floor they were on, the third floor. "..Fuck!" Ryth hastily jumped to her feet, grabbing the backpack on the table and sliding her PDA into it before vaulting over the counter and sliding underneath. She didn't have her gun! Of course, who in their right mind would carry a gun around when they were on vacation? But of course, she did not expect the super city of the Millennium Mall to have failed to stop this thing from getting in.

The wolf let out a roar, loud. And Ryth found herself perspirating, beads of sweat lining her forehead and her breathing grow irregular. "Not..not normal.." she exclaimed to herself, trying hard to fight off her growing anxiousness and numbed body that refused to move.

She'd faced things far worse and lived to tell about it. Yes she had no weapons but why would that strike such a fear into her being? It didn't make any sense. There was just one explanation! This fear, the wolf had something to do with it. Was it perhaps the roar a moment ago?

A gunshot goes off in the mall.

A miss. Not the first wide round fired by unsteady, nervous hands. The beast ignores and continues its rush.

A second round hits just a few inches underneath its right eye. It closes the eye reflexively as twenty-nine more rounds drill into its thick pelt. They come to a stop at the bone, but leave its fur painted dark with trickling blood. The eye remains unharmed, and as it re-opens, the gunslinger can catch a reflection of her own terrified face in mirrored in its pupil. A kunai come hurtling towards the beast. It snatches the metallic weapon out of the air with its blackened maw and growls at the young ninja.

But with the girl in its sights, the tray goes unnoticed.

The sound of crumpling stainless steel and spurting, liquefied food items fill the immediate area as the wolf begins to tumble. Rachel screams, diving out of the way as three tonnes of muscle, bone and fur come barreling past her and straight through the wall on the other side of the shop; concealing it in a cloud of upturned dust and asbestos. The Lotus ninja, if she kept hold of the chain, would find herself yanked off of her feet and likely flung into a wall. Mina peers our from behind her cover and saw a crowd gathering, even recognized a few faces. Justice, the hometown hero of Duskburg who just-so-happened to come to the better side of town today, of all days. And... Lethe? The... well, given the few things she'd heard about her, Mina wasn't sure whether she was a hero, villain, or someone who just did whatever the hell they wanted on any given Sunday. And she found herself as annoyed by them as she was confused.

What, are they immune to the sound?

No, that's not it. She might not have been able to hear a single word that any of them said, but she could see the looks on their faces. The nervous shaking of guns and blades. Everyone there was waging a war against their instincts to stand their ground and fight. They were either the bravest people in the mall, the dumbest, or the most insane.

Or, most of them anyway.

The blonde in front was acting like he was perfectly calm. Smiling like he was actually... enjoying this. If he wasn't outright immune, then he must've been deaf. Nobody in their right mind would be acting like that while under hysterical fear. The trick with the tray probably meant that he didn't have anything better to throw at the wolf but, even still, he was probably the biggest threat here. The rational man, the guy who can keep his shit together under extraordinary amounts of pressure. Most worryingly, the guy who was likely to inspire the others to fight through their own fear. Rachel was starting to get back onto her own feet and run.

This man needed to go before he started giving the others the wrong idea.

Mina tried really hard to keep anyone aside from that bitch, Rachel, from getting hurt. Fear was unpleasant, but nowhere near as substantially debilitating as wounds, broken bones or... death. The less blood spilled, the better, but people got brave when had no way of seeing what their enemies were capable of. There's a reason why so many heads ended up on spikes throughout history. Mina had no spikes or signs to put up to demonstrate what her pet was capable of, but she did have was an overly courageous thrill-seeker and an audience who had yet to witness a tragedy.

Henry's corpse would send a suitable message, all the same.

Another roar echoed out from the dusty smokescreen; a final warning to rout the daredevil if he hadn't heard the sound before. But he had, and he already shown that he the fear wouldn't deter him. The beast would pounce towards Henry from out of the hole in the wall; its front paw landing right where he was standing and bringing all three tonnes of muscle down with all of the force carried in its movement. Its landing would quake the area, cracking the white mall floors every-so-slightly around the point of impact.

And the moment that all four paws touched down, the beast would spin one good time. Its tail would lash out at anyone who had gotten too close; knocking the wind out of their lungs, hurling them off of their feet, and tossing them in the right direction. That is, away from its hunt and back towards their own personal business. Back to safety and comfort. Anyone who stayed and got hurt past this point, well...

That was on them.

"LETHE! RUN!"
.
The superhero gasped as a a set of icy stalagmites shattered in front of her. And like a track-athlete who'd just herd the firing of a blank, Lethe exploded forward into a purple blur. Eyes wide and filled with terror. Rapidly blinking to clear dust from reddening eyes. A cough disrupting her rhythm and slowing her down, only prompting her to use her as a filter for the large particles running through the air.

Up and she jumped onto the table, bounding between the top to her memorized target. Another roar echoes through the air and shudder travels through her spine. Her eyes get wide and she....slips. A squeak is heard and in between her bound she falls forward of the table at high speed and slams into a table filled with abandoned food -- which is promptly flung into the air.

She can taste of blood from biting her own tongue, spitting it out as she rises slightly. The scent of sweet and sour chicken greets her as she awaken to a world perceived in slow motion. In one place, she the brave man who looked not really any more different than anyone else. Unarmed, unequipped and not wearing any kind of constume. And then there was the girl laying on the ground, fresh off the dodge. A part of wanted to impede.

She coughs.

"I'm sorry." She murmurs as she slams her hands onto the ground to push her up. And her feet slam against the ground to propel her forward. The beast spins and Sacha jumps onto the trash can. And then jumps again. She twirls gracefully in the air, clearing the creature's entire height as she lands right next to her objective. A quick glance at the label on her fast food uniform and she memorizes her name for the time being.

"Rachel."

Sacha grabs her arm and lifts. She isn't strong enough to pick the larger and way more developed girl up. But she is strong enough to help her to her feet. Lethe's grip was strong. Painfully so. And her grip was firm. And her eyes were filled with fear. Fear of the monster's who'd eaten her bullets. Fear of own failure. Fear of the girl's fate.

"Let's go."

She did as she had done many times before whenever she was out of bullets. Whenever her gun was missing. When she had fought members of the now society of superheroes. When she killed that corporate slave-owner with Joey. When she broke Kate out of prison.

And she ran. But in her hand was Rachel's hand pulled along with her as she dragged the two off into the dust and down the aisles of the mall. The girl slowing the once reaper down as the pair moved.

How did one combat the fear that they felt in their guts? Ryth was glad she had a safe spot behind the counter. Here, hopefully, the wolf will not be able to get her. And there were plenty of things she could use as weapons if her hands would just..stop...shaking! There were knives in the shelves, butt end of mixers she could use and plenty of hand held objects available. Still, she was scared, for reasons beyond her. Paralyzing fear afflicted Ryth. Always be prepared when you go on a job. The words of her college day professor rang in her head. Those were words she and other field agents followed. But she was not on a job! This was vacation, so she was not prepared for what had come about. Ryth definitely didn't pack contingencies for this particular eventuality.

"Αν δεν μπορώ, τότε πρέπει" Greek was said to be the language of the gods, words by which to manipulate the strings of mortality. Words of power invoked deities for protection against evil. Ryth didn't have the preparations, neither the materials nor the time to cast something like that. She could however try a very simple elementary spell in hopes it would work the same for her. It wasn't to the purpose of cancelling the gut wrenching fear, but more to instill courage, to push herself to move.

Mana flowed up her veins into Elizabeth's medial prefrontal cortex, simulating the part of her brain responsible for fighting fear. An unnatural stimulus to fight against an unnatural fear. She'd be suffering later. But all she wanted to do at the moment was fight back! Ryth grabbed a couple of knives from the shelves. They were impractical but hopefully they would do the job just fine. Blades were thin and not at all sturdy enough to be able to be used without breaking.

The sound of crashing echoed as the wolf charged through the walls of the joint. As Ryth got up, all she saw was a hole filled with dust and nothing more, and a man urging the civilians to move.

"Go! Before it comes back!" Ryth shouted before the wolf came back in, charging at the man. There wasn't a moment to lose. She threw the knives in her hand, aimed at the wolf's eyes, hoping to blind it at the very least. "Leave! This place isn't safe." She shouted again, to anyone that was still around. Was glad when she saw a woman make a run for it. The fear was still there, she could feel it in her cold hands and feet, but she wasn't going to roll over and die...so she moved, armed with the knife she did not throw.

The kunai cut through the air and soon found purchase though it was caught in the jaws of the towering beast as opposed to sinking into flesh. Hisa had always wanted a dog, she would have been proud of such a great catch if the world went her way. That wasn't how things worked though instead she had no such pet and while she was devoid of family in a way her father's killer evidently had family. Odds were not by blood of course, but there was a care to "Lethe run" that spoke of a level of care. The Lotus Wyvern found herself almost jealous how much her world seemed to be falling apart while the violet assassin's got to be built up.

It reminded her of volume two of the particular book series she had sitting with her motorcycle outside.

Relations to a book series the lotus loved though wasn't something she had time for as the hold of hers wasn't going to let go. Meaning she was flung towards one of the stands. She slams into one of the menus above the lights flickering before the monitor crashes. If her back didn't ache enough from the impact well the fall onto the counter helped make up for it. As it turned out a cash register wasn't exactly a soft pillow landing, mostly though Hisa was just angry however. Her reflexes should of been better, she should have been landing like a cat. The roar disrupted her ability to function though, another roar at the moment cutting through the air. Behind the counter was a younger guy cowering from the chaos, more importantly though a cord hung from his pocket. The greatest weapon out there, headphones.

Not only did they allow for frequently tuning out all other sounds they also were decent for improvised strangling of people. She'd use them for the first purpose though, she'd taken to portable speakers herself and thus didn't have her own."I'll bring them back promise." There was no reason to steal from cashiers, a lot of people absolutely but not them. Some had money to take, some fought for every dollar. Slipping the headphones in she raised the volume on her phone, specifically selecting the metal her dad was into. Sure she was more for rock and punk sounds then heavy metal but her choices might have had quiet moments in them.

Her motivation was helped by seeing Lethe run, to retreat. Unlike her dad who lived to fight, loud music family pride and a chance to think herself better than a rival was all the motivation one could ask for. Moving towards the opening the kunai was once more thrown, this time racing toward the other eye. As Hisa could see near by a blonde was throwing a knife at the other side. Not wanting to stop there however the Lotus looked to sprint in, get close to the wound from previous gunfire.

There was a turn as an attack came but the floor was also a mess. A mix of soda spilled on the floor which while it make clothes sticky and gross was wet. Drop to her knees and the assassin would begin to slide, a tail whipping just over her head. A punch would then come a curved hook of a blow seeking to connect to the wet reddish brown fur. She couldn't focus from the fear before, hopefully the music would drown that out if it continued but she didn't want to count on that. Knowing she couldn't likely manage her powers at a range under the influence she looked to get to a point where the blood was flowing onto her hand. If she could touch the beast she would then begin looking to drag the blood out of the body, starting fires or freezing things took concentration but just manipulating the flow of one of the elements at her disposal that was something she figured she could potentially do.
